Three Salon Culinaire Images

Salon Culinaire at IFEX is Ireland's largest and most prestigious chef competition programme and will incorporate a packed programme of over 30 classes during the three days of the show.

Chefs from all sectors of the industry and of all levels of experience will have the chance to participate in a wide range of competitions that will enable them to learn new skills, develop new techniques and gain feedback from some of the best chefs in the industry.

There are four competition categories to enter - Street Food, the ChefSkills Live Theatre, Larder Knife Skills and Edible Art:

Street Food

An exciting spectacle, Street Food will see teams of competitors produce and serve a range of exciting dishes. You’ll be able to view the chef teams and work – and be in with a chance of sampling their exciting new creations. (Details of the menus and pricings will be available shortly and bookings will be open towards the end of the year).

The ChefSkills Live Theatre

The ChefSkills Live Theatre will host an exciting series of back-to-back live hot classes each day in six adjacent state-of-the-art workstations. There will be a variety of junior, senior, student and open classes available to enter, classes will range from a 30 minute against the clock challenges to three course menus to prepare.

Larder Knife Skills

Knife Skills are something professional chefs are constantly working on so this year we invite you to stop by the Meat@IFEX stage to see chefs taking their knife skills in the kitchen to a whole new level as competitors slice, dice and prep at great speed.

Butchery and Knife Skilss

Edible Art 

Edible Art will incorporate a stunning array of static exhibits in a variety of different mediums that will showcase the skills and talents of the industry. The inspirational exhibits will create an area that truly can be described as 'an edible art gallery'.

World Butchers' Challenge

The World Butchers' Challenge 2018 is being hosted at Meat@IFEX. The biggest competition in WBC history, the competition will play host to 14 international countries, where the best artisan butchers and apprentices fight for the titles of best butcher in the world. 

The full competition programme is currently being put together by Sean Owens, Salon Director, and full details, including how to enter will be available late Autumn.
